Our projects for Boystown Youth are geared toward changing the life trajectory of each young individual we serve. We aim to provide a foundation that not only nurtures their immediate needs but also equips them for future success.
MOD Movement serves a diverse group of young individuals, ranging in age from toddlers to young adults.
Our projects focus on children who come from challenging backgrounds, including those who have been orphaned, abandoned, or are at risk due to socio-economic factors.
Our projects are designed to tackle their immediate living conditions while considering long-term growth and development.
Our commitment to the youth at Boystown has led to several key projects over the years, each designed to significantly improve their living conditions, education, and overall well-being.
Significant renovations at Boystown included new beds for each child, air-conditioned rooms, and upgraded bathrooms and kitchens. Personal lockers were provided for secure storage. These improvements have directly enhanced living standards and ongoing assessments ensure sustained support.
Led by the late Lily Flor, the 2017 Day of Giving was a vibrant event that brought together volunteers, children, and elders. The day featured interactive games, nourishing packed lunches served by dedicated volunteers, and a variety of activities tailored to different age groups.
A day filled with events for children and the elderly - packed with volunteers from MyOutDesk.
Recognizing the imminent arrival of 27 special needs children from Manila City, we built a new, fully air-conditioned home tailored to their requirements. This new facility includes individual beds for each child, a dining area with a separate kitchen, and a laundry area with its own comfort rooms and bathrooms. This initiative ensured a safe, welcoming environment for these children.
This contribution ensured the boys had sufficient food, clothing, and medical care, enhancing their daily lives and holiday experience. It also supported educational and recreational activities, crucial for their emotional and intellectual growth. This gift didn't just meet immediate needs—it invested in the futures of these young individuals, allowing them to focus on personal development and education during the holiday season and beyond.
In response to the growing number of children transitioning from the foundlings home, a new residence was constructed at Boystown to house 30 children aged 8-15. The MOD Movement provided these young residents with a fully equipped home. It features comfortable living spaces, dedicated areas for dining and activities, ensuring that each child has the resources to live a better life in a supportive environment.
Despite a stormy start, the 2024 Day of Giving at Manila Boystown was a resounding success, powered by the spirit of dedicated volunteers. The event focused on providing essential support and joy to the children and teens at the institution. Volunteers arrived early, braving the heavy rain to distribute hygiene kits and ensure every child had nourishing meals and engaging activities. The day was filled with performances, games, and creative activities tailored for the children, bringing smiles and laughter that brightened the gloomy weather. This special day underscored the community's commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of these young individuals, proving that compassion and kindness shine brightest in challenging times.
Join us in making a profound impact at the Boystown orphanage and senior living facility, where our collaboration over the past eight years has significantly improved the lives of over 600 residents.
With the help of dedicated virtual professionals from MyOutDesk and the generous support of our community, family, friends, and MOD clients - we have made meaningful progress. Yet, there is more to do.
Currently, more than 40 seniors with varying medical needs are housed in a temporary large tent due to overcrowding in the main senior building. Our immediate goal is to construct suitable housing that will not only provide a stable shelter but also offer the dignity of proper beds and living conditions for up to 50 seniors.
Your support can directly contribute to this vital project. By donating today, you will help us provide these seniors with the quality of life they deserve.
