Our projects for Boystown elders are dedicated to improving the quality of life for each senior we serve.
We focus on providing enhancements and services that not only meet their immediate needs but also ensure comfort and dignity in their later years.
MOD Movement serves a diverse group of elders at Boystown, many of whom require special care due to age-related conditions or socio-economic factors.
Our projects focus on enhancing the living conditions and overall well-being of these seniors, ensuring they have access to the comfort, medical care, and community interaction they deserve.
We are committed to addressing both their immediate needs and long-term comfort, providing an environment where they can feel valued and live their remaining years with dignity.
Our commitment to the elders at Boystown has led to several key projects over the years, each designed to significantly improve their living conditions, education, and overall well-being.
Named in honor of Lily Flor, whose vision profoundly shaped our efforts, this facility now provides a safe and comfortable home for 60-70 elders. Equipped with full ventilation, TV sets, modern shower rooms, a laundry area, and a spacious kitchen and dining area, Lily Flor Hall ensures our elders feel cared for and valued.
Led by the late Lily Flor, the 2017 Day of Giving was a vibrant event that brought together volunteers, children, and elders. The day featured interactive games, nourishing packed lunches served by dedicated volunteers, and a variety of activities tailored to different age groups.
A day filled with events for children and the elderly - packed with volunteers from MyOutDesk.
MOD Movement undertook significant renovations to the main hall at Boystown. This area, crucial for social interactions and guest visits, was previously hampered by a leaking roof, inadequate ventilation, and an unpleasant odor. The renovation included installing a new roof and ceiling, adding air conditioning and proper ventilation, and equipping the space with a new television and sound system to enhance their leisure time with activities they love, such as dancing.
Faced with the challenge of accommodating over 100 new elders transferred by the City Hall of Manila, MOD Movement swiftly acted to ensure adequate living conditions. The creation of Mariano Hall emerged as a pivotal solution, a new facility designed to comfortably house 70 elders under one roof. Fully air-conditioned with expansive outdoor areas for social activities like chess, Mariano Hall includes well-appointed dining areas, bathrooms, and comfort rooms, significantly enhancing the living standards of these elders.
Despite stormy weather, the 2024 Day of Giving at Manila Boystown shone as a beacon of support for the elderly. Volunteers delivered essential supplies and hosted activities specifically for the elders, including dance and storytelling sessions that fostered connection and joy. This special day highlighted the community's unwavering commitment to ensuring the elders felt valued and cared for, proving that compassion persists even through the toughest conditions.
Join us in making a profound impact at the Boystown orphanage and senior living facility, where our collaboration over the past eight years has significantly improved the lives of over 600 residents.
With the help of dedicated virtual professionals from MyOutDesk and the generous support of our community, family, friends, and MOD clients - we have made meaningful progress. Yet, there is more to do.
Currently, more than 40 seniors with varying medical needs are housed in a temporary large tent due to overcrowding in the main senior building. Our immediate goal is to construct suitable housing that will not only provide a stable shelter but also offer the dignity of proper beds and living conditions for up to 50 seniors.
Your support can directly contribute to this vital project. By donating today, you will help us provide these seniors with the quality of life they deserve.
